If your taste buds are a little more curious than most, or they thrive on odd combinations, then this post is for you. If you’re in the area and craving something a little different, we happen to have a few local foods that are unique to the area and some that are just plain bizarre, but still tasty of course!
Here are a few unusual entrees to choose from that will make your taste buds do a double take:
- Dig into a signature sugarplum sundae, festive flurries, or hand-dipped ice cream from the Sugarplum Scoop Shoppe located inside Santa’s Merry Marketplace at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari
- Also located inside Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, try a Thanksgiving meal such as roasted turkey, smoked pulled pork, or chicken and dumplings served with delicious sides at Plymouth Rock Cafe
- Order a Dirty Frosty Sundae from Frosty’s Fun Center. Made up of creamy, hand-scooped ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms…what more could you ask for?
- Take pizza to whole a new level with Frosty’s Fun Center’s Taco Pizza, loaded with enchilada sauce, refried beans, seasoned ground beef, black olives, blended cheddar, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and crunchy tortilla chips
- A favorite around here, the Frozen Hot Chocolate from Santa’s Candy Castle will make your visit unforgettable…especially if you’re up for taking on their Avalanche Challenge and finishing off 64 ounces of this delectable drink
- If the words organic, grassfed, and local mean anything to you, then Steckler Grassfed Cheese is right up your alley. Before being aged for at least sixty days to develop its scrumptious flavor, each batch is made by hand right in the farm’s on site creamery and is made from 100% grassfed, raw, organic milk
- Stop into Lakeview Orchard and sink your teeth into one of their juicy peaches. One of our local wineries, Pepper’s Ridge Winery, also use these fresh peaches to produce their delectable peach-flavored varieties—another local favorite
