6 Can’t-Miss November Events

Crunchy leaves, cooler days, pumpkin pie, turkey. There’s a lot to love about November. Including the events!

And even though it’s still technically fall, around the Santa Claus, Indiana, area, this month is often considered the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season. And these six festive November events are the perfect way to kick off the festivities!

Candlelight Evening at the Farm

Abraham Lincoln’s family didn’t necessarily celebrate Christmas the way we do today. But during the Candlelight Evening at the Farm at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial on November 19, it’ll be easy to imagine a young Abe and his siblings marking the occasion in their own way by firelight!

The farm will be illuminated only by candlelight, lamps, and the glow of a fire. Park rangers and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and perform demonstrations throughout the farm. A second event will be held December 17.

Santa Claus Land of Lights

Once you’ve polished off the pumpkin pie, you’ll want to wrap up Thanksgiving with a visit to the Santa Claus Land of Lights! The Christmas light adventure takes visitors on a 1.2-mile drive through Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph.

The light show is open Thanksgiving night; Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, November 25 – December 4; and nightly December 9 – 26 (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

Christmas in Dale Light Show

By day, it’s an unassuming house in a quiet neighborhood. By night, the home bursts into colorful, Christmassy life!

Visitors to the Christmas in Dale Light Show will be treated to a 48-minute digital light show set to synchronized music. The show kicks off on Thanksgiving night and runs nightly through New Year’s Day.

‘Tis the World Cup Day Viewing Parties

Now, here’s a unique way to “kick” off the holiday season! In partnership with FOX Sports and the Spencer County Visitors Bureau, Frosty’s Fun Center and Santa Claus Brewing will host simultaneous ‘Tis the World Cup Viewing Parties for Team USA’s match-up with England on Friday, November 25, aka Black Friday.

Enjoy food and drink specials, giveaways, photo ops with Santa and FOX Sports mascot, Cleatus, and much more.

Balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, and costumed characters will also be available. Plus, don’t forget to pop into the store and start your Christmas shopping!
